Artemisia
annua
var. macrocephala
Artemisia annua has lately received world wide recognition for its anti-malaria
properties. Our essential oil and hydrosol is of the Southern variety
macrocephala. We do not yet have a chemical analysis of the products
and would be glad if we could co-operate with scientific and medical
institutions to understand more about the contents and properties of
our plants.
The essential oil and hydrosol of Artemisia are perceived by us as overbearingly
strong. Only very small concentrations can be described as pleasant.
Local medicine is using the plant to expell evel spirits, hence, some
effect on the nervous system may be expected.
Caution: we do not recommend this oils nor hydrosols to be used for
aroma therapy or massage. These oils and hydrosols are solely for medicinal
purpose and require further scientific research.

Artemisia annua var. macrocephala

BIODIVERSITY RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China

The tropical mountain
forests of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China, are the home of thousands of
species with a potential to develop health and cosmetics products.
The
TianZi Biodiversity Research
& Development Centre is devoting its work to finding these species,
researching their potential, farm them in forest-farming ecosystems, and
find market outlets.
Traditional
and modern processing technologies are applied depending on crops and
quality requirements of the market.
For distilling essential oil we are using high quality copper for a traditionally
designed distilling apparatus. You can see
the distill here.
Through
buying our products you are contributing to save these species from extinction.
Your
ecologically friendly production:
proudly traceable!
Imagine, the traceability of your products leads your customers
to the tropical jungles of the Mekong river and to the Himalayan mountains
where Tibet meets Yunnan. Immerged in diverse culture and rich biodiversity,
your customers can visit the places and people where your products start
from pristine soils, clean air, and where they support the livelihood
of local ethnic communities.
Would this add to the sustainability and credibility of your business?
Would your trademark benefit from international
research publications lauding your company's involvement in saving the
rain forest?
If you are in the food, cosmetics, flower, herbal, and medical business,
certifying your products as contributing to biodiversity protection will
be an advantage with a competitive edge.
The TianZi Biodiversity Centre is working with German Universities to
design land use systems, which are bound to change paradigms: we promote
rare agro-biodiversity species, manage complexity, and find alternatives
to destructive forms of mono culture.
If all this is in line with your company's business concept - please contact
us.
The TianZi Team.
