Amorphophallus konjac (A. rivieri)
Amorphophallus konjac (rivieri) is a food species of Yunnan and Sichuan. It is grown in fields by upland farmers. Its tubers have received attention as a diabetes food. They contain "Konjac glucomannan" which is an excellent dietary fiber. This polysaccharide can reduce total cholesterol and blood glucose, leading to weight loss.
Aside from its value as a natural diet the plant has peculiar and stunning red flowers, which make interesting garden and indoor plants. The leaves are similar to Amorphophallus paeoniifolius but smaller.
We offer konjac flour on wholesale. Please ask for actual prices and availability by e-mail.
