"Golden Sail Aroid"

A beautiful pot plant with an unusual flower. The plant resembles Remusatia but it is much more attractive because of its many and beautiful flowers.

After opening, the yellow spata of Steudnera flower bends back...

...until it points to the ground...

...and exposes the pollen to insects. In our area small fruit flies are attracted by the flower before it opens completely. The scent resembles overripe fruits.

The leaves are entirely closed and reach a height of 40 to 80 cm, making this an excellent pot plant for dark corners. Remusatia needs shade; the leaves are present throughout the years' cycle. In spring the plant produces about every week one new flower, and a total of up to 8 flowers.
