Dai Medicine The Dai peoples of Xishuangbanna have been migrating people for millennia. Their traces reach back to Northeast China from where they moved down to Yunnan, reached the Mekong river, and finally arrived in Thailand. Today, the Thai peoples' language and writing is still very similar to the Dais'. Along their way the Dai people came across a multitude of plant species that could be used as medicine. In Jinghong, the capital of the Dai peoples' autonomous prefecture of Xishuangbanna, a Dai Hospital is standardizing the many recipes and is starting to register them officially. On this site we will gradually add all the standardized medicine that is released by the Dai Hospital.

Here, biodiversity is very high and nature has created a treasure house of plants and mushrooms that can be used for medicine. Many
of the plants that are in use locally are described in the Book "Hani
Medicine of Xishuangbanna". The Hani Peoples are one of the 14
ethnic minorities that inhabit tropical Xishuangbanna.
